Li Auto has officially denied rumors circulating online about a signed sales authorization deal with a company in Uzbekistan. In a statement, the automaker clarified that the circulating images of a supposed signing ceremony are fake, and no factory tours have been arranged for any dealers. It has reported the incident to local law enforcement.
Although Li Auto CEO Li Xiang stated in July 2023 that the company would not enter overseas markets before 2025, signs of international expansion have already emerged. During a February 2024 earnings call, the company confirmed it had started building a team in Dubai for local sales and services. Plans are in place to establish an after-sales network across the Middle East and Central Asia in the first half of this year.
